double slit

“Because we don’t know when we will die, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well. And yet everything happens only a certain number of times, and a very small number really. How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood, some afternoon that’s so deeply a part of your being that you can’t conceive of your life without it? Perhaps four, or five times more? Perhaps not even that. How many more times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps twenty. And yet it all seems limitless......”

"Double Slit" is an online exhibition of photographic works. The name comes from the "Double Slit experiment", because this experimental scientist produced the bold guess that the world is in a superimposed state. The results of this experiment reminded me that every complete individual may contain both what we see and what is hidden. We tend to see our exposed state more easily, but what determines that we are a unique individual is often the unconscious product of our memories and inner feelings. I call these hidden states the psychological atmosphere. These inner products are often turned into scenes in my mind. They will disappear over time and produce new ones, but I believe that all these pictures and the atmosphere that I experience are the key factors that constitute me. In these photographs, I restored my psychological atmosphere by editing the pictures. I often look at these edited photos. I like that they can remind me of my mental state when I experience these scenes. But once when I looked at the original state of these photos, I seemed to have a deeper emotion, and I felt loss and passing.
